Getting out of check

If your king is in check, you have a problem.
A king can never stay in check.
This means that you have to do something to get your king out of check.

Ways to get out of check:

• Moving. Move your king to a safe square.
• Blocking. Protect your king by placing another piece between your king and the piece that gives check.
• Capturing. Take the piece that is checking your king.
